The Extended Shop Opens Its First Brick-and-Mortar Location

Last year, Amy Skerratt started The Extended Shop as a pop-up boutique to bring fashionable plus-size clothing to Nashville. The fabulous shop was held in several locations, including Starry Nights Market, L&L Market and Porter Flea. It proved to be so popular that Amy started looking at locations for a permanent shop. She soon found a home at Capitol View in the North Gulch.

“I wanted to be very intentional about where I opened my first permanent store, and Capitol View is the perfect fit,” she says. “I love that we’re in the city, but it still has a walkable neighborhood feel that is full of life. I feel like I’m a part of a destination.”

While there’s no shortage of clothing stores in Nashville, The Extended Shop opens the world of fashion and modern style to people who are too often not considered in other boutiques. With the tagline “You belong here — in your body and in your size,” Amy has created a welcoming space with a sense of belonging some people have never felt in a clothing store. Since opening in June, Amy says she’s been flooded with positivity and support from the community. The Extended Shop will certainly be a boutique to keep your eye on in the coming years.
