(FRANKLIN, Tenn.) October 7, 2015 – Infrastructure work begins next week, preparing the way for construction to commence on the next two blocks of Capitol View. Perhaps the most crucial pieces of infrastructure include raising and widening the roads (11th Avenue N, Nelson Merry and Jo Johnston), and modernizing all utilities.
A transportation plan was created based on future traffic counts, and roads are being designed specifically to handle the capacity once Capitol View is complete. Work will begin on eight major intersection locations, including the widening of 11th Avenue.
All utilities in the Capitol View area are being upgraded and modernized, including storm, sanitary, water and natural gas. Electrical lines are being organized and moved to the perimeter of the development, so there will not be lines running through the project. This decision will improve efficiency and the aesthetics of Capitol View for tenants and users.
Finally, three parcels of land have been acquired from CSX Railroad. These strategic parcels will allow Northwestern Mutual and Boyle to honor its commitment to the City of Nashville to complete the bikeway/greenway trail through Capitol View. This component of mobility will strengthen the overall connectivity of Capitol View to all parts of the city. See attached rendering of bikeway/greenway trail.
Upon completion, Capitol View will offer up to 1,000,000 square feet of office space, up to 300,000 square feet of retail space, up to 1,000 multi-family units, two hotels, and over 4,000 parking spaces to meet visitor and employee parking needs. Capitol View will become a gathering place, a vibrant retail environment, and a dynamic place to work and live, all connected through a well-planned pedestrian network.
