Capitol View lands women’s clothing retailer

Valerie Boutique owner has shop in Cool Springs, eyes December opening in North Gulch

The owner of Valerie Boutique, a women’s clothing retailer that got its start in Cool Springs, announced Tuesday a December opening in mixed-use urban district Capitol View in the North Gulch.

The shop, the second location for the women’s boutique clothing store, will be located in the 1100 Charlotte building home to, among other, M.L.Rose and HCA’s Parallon offices.

Terms of the lease and the cost to get the shop operational were not disclosed in a release.

In addition to M.L. Rose, Valerie Boutique will join existing Capitol View retailers and restaurants Your Pie, Starbucks, SVM Boutique and Pinnacle Financial Partners at the 1100 Charlotte building. The shop is taking a space that has not had a tenant to date.

Nearby is the office tower home to a LifeWay Christian Resources retail store. Relatedly, preleasing is underway for units at The Residences at Capitol View, a 378-unit high-end apartment building slated to open in late September.

“Capitol View … embodies the modern, lively spirit of Nashville and allows us to serve a new market: young professionals,” Valerie Locati, Valerie Boutique owner, said in the release. “Capitol View’s philosophy and focus on community completely align with our brand. With all of the great amenities this district offers, especially the free retail guest parking, it was an opportunity I could not pass up.”

Jeff Haynes, a partner at Capitol View developer Boyle Investment Co., said Capitol View’s retailers and commercial tenants are “integral to cultivating Nashville’s first real downtown living district.”

“We know Valerie Boutique’s second storefront will be a huge hit,” Haynes said.

Established in 2015, Valerie Boutique offers more than 45 brands, private shopping parties and complimentary, in-store stylists.
